Bailey Edwards Joins FIU as Director of Men’s Basketball Operations

The former Providence assistant brings a wealth of operational experience to the Panthers' staff

A Strategic Addition to FIU's Basketball Staff

Bailey Edwards has been appointed as the Director of Men's Basketball Operations at Florida International University for the 2026‑27 season, a move that underscores the program’s commitment to strengthening its behind‑the‑scenes leadership. In this role, she will manage travel arrangements, logistical coordination, budgeting and overall administrative support for the Panthers' men's basketball team.

Edwards arrives after three seasons at Providence College, where she served as an administrative assistant and later as an administrative operations assistant for the men's basketball program. During her tenure, she oversaw the program’s budget, coordinated recruiting operations, handled team travel and managed office functions, while also organizing team meals, the annual Pro Day that attracted all 32 NBA teams, and youth camp programming.

Prior to her time at Providence, Edwards worked as a recruiting and operations assistant at George Mason University from 2021 to 2023. There she coordinated team travel, managed recruiting visit logistics, handled financial reporting and supervised camp operations, further honing the skill set that now positions her to lead FIU's operational efforts.

Edwards holds a bachelor's degree in health, fitness, and recreation resources with a concentration in sport management (2020) and a master's degree in sport and recreation studies with a sport management concentration (2023), both earned from George Mason University. Her academic background complements her practical experience, providing a solid foundation for strategic decision‑making.

She will join a growing staff that includes assistants Lane Below, Kenny Boynton, Adrian Davila and Jabril Durham under head coach Joey Cantens. Together, the group aims to elevate the program’s competitiveness and operational efficiency as the Panthers look ahead to the upcoming season.
