Providence Academy has named Greg White its new head coach for the boys basketball program, filling the vacancy left by Velton Kennedy.
White comes to Providence after two seasons at Thaden School, where he built a 291‑218 career record and guided the team to a 15‑14 finish last year, including a 5‑9 record in the 3A‑1 Conference.
At Bentonville West, White served as the program’s first boys basketball coach, posting a 133‑92 record and leading the team to the Class 6A state semifinals in the 2022‑23 season.
The Providence squad he inherits went 26‑7 overall, captured the 3A‑1 regular‑season title with a perfect 14‑0 conference slate, and reached the state tournament quarterfinals last year. The roster features all‑state players Luke Fugate and Levi St. Clair.

Athletic Director Julie Kelly highlighted White’s extensive coaching background and his proven ability to develop winning teams.
In a separate move, the academy promoted Hayley Kate Webb to head coach of the girls program. Webb, the school’s career leading scorer with more than 2,600 points, previously guided Providence to two Heartland Christian Athletic Association championships and was named Northwest Arkansas Democrat‑Gazette Player of the Year for small schools in 2017.
