A Scholar-Athlete's Rise
Lex Cox, a senior at Rye Boys Soccer, has been named a 2025–2026 High School Scholar All-American by United Soccer Coaches, an honor that celebrates excellence both on the pitch and in the classroom.
On the field, Cox anchored a defense that guided the team to the state championship game, displaying sharp field vision and disciplined play that earned praise from teammates and opponents alike.
Off the field, he maintained a 3.95 cumulative GPA throughout his senior year, a testament to his ability to manage rigorous academics alongside a demanding athletic schedule.
Coach Jared Small, who led the squad, highlighted Cox’s leadership, noting that his work ethic and strategic insight were pivotal in the team’s deep playoff run.
The recognition places Cox among only five boys soccer players from New York to receive the All-American distinction, underscoring the caliber of talent emerging from the state.
