Mississippi State Predicted to Finish Near Bottom of SEC

Media poll places Bulldogs second-to-last, ahead of Arkansas, and highlights All-SEC selections for Jones and Pulliam

The Southeastern Conference’s media poll for the upcoming season has placed Mississippi State near the bottom of the league.

The Bulldogs gathered 467 votes, enough to sit ahead of only Arkansas, which received 205.

That marks a slight improvement from a year ago, when Mississippi State finished third-to-last in the conference.

All-SEC recognition

Redshirt junior cornerback Kelley Jones earned a spot on the All-SEC second team defense.

Jones recorded 13 tackles and 11 pass breakups last season, numbers that helped secure his selection.

Punter Ethan Pulliam was named to the All-SEC third team.

He averaged 46.8 yards per punt in the previous campaign, a figure that stood out among his peers.
