This offseason, more than 70 players have taken part in summer workouts, a marked increase from previous years. Freshmen are still joining the roster, but the core group of returning athletes is showing a level of commitment that Bell says has been missing for a long time.
A Program Poised for Change
The Lions are anchored by a veteran squad that has grown together over the past four years. Senior linebacker Randon Manausa believes the team is ready to take a significant step forward, while seniors Marquis Bugs and Nickolas Akanbi are expected to deliver standout performances.
At quarterback, juniors Caleb Knipple and Major Black are battling for the starting role, adding competition that could energize the offense. Bell emphasizes that restoring pride to one of Tallahassee's most tradition‑rich programs is his foremost goal, even as the team has struggled to finish above .500 in recent seasons and last made the FHSAA playoffs in 2014.
