Cane Bay High School is set to usher in a new chapter for its baseball program as Danny Clark, a retired coach from Kentucky, has been named the new head baseball coach, succeeding Shane Todd.
A New Era for Baseball
Clark's journey with the Cobras spans three seasons, including two years leading the junior varsity squad, and his expertise was recognized when he was inducted into the Kentucky Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2025.
On the gridiron, head coach Russell Zehr is optimistic that the football team can rebound from two under‑performing seasons, bolstered by the arrival of senior Coran Houpe who will transition from running back to quarterback to run the option offense.
Football's Path to Redemption
The roster features a blend of experience and youth, with returning standouts such as Mayson Samuel, Sam Rolston, Isaac Siefken, Eli Taylor, JJ Rose, Devin Cobbs, Brennen Shokes, Jackson Williamson, Tyrell Bess, Zion Bryant, Caeden Wilson and Aiden Thorne, a senior who provides a deep threat on kickoffs and field goals.
Offseason workouts and spring practice have already shown promising signs, and the coaching staff believes the pieces are in place for a resurgence that could echo the team's 2024 region championship despite a modest win total in recent years.
