Summer Showcase
The University of Connecticut’s baseball program enjoyed a productive summer, with eleven current or incoming student‑athletes earning All-Star honors across a variety of collegiate summer leagues.
Right‑hander Garrett Garbinski posted a 3‑0 record and a 0.75 ERA over six starts, while infielder George Slauson batted .333 with 40 hits, 12 doubles, a home run and 29 RBIs in 35 games.
Other standouts included Drew Smith, who was selected for the NECBL All-Star game after a fan vote on Instagram, and reliever Connor Lane, who recorded three saves with 23 strikeouts in 17 innings.
All-Star Selections
Nater Wachter, Chris Cancel, MJ Bollinger, Erick Diaz and Trajan Rogowski also received league-wide recognition, each contributing notable statistics in their respective circuits.
The accolades were spread across several prominent summer leagues, including the Cape Cod League, the Perfect Game Collegiate League, the California Collegiate League and the New Britain Bees’ own showcase events.
Coaches and league officials praised the Huskies’ depth, noting that the performances not only highlight individual talent but also signal a strong pipeline for the upcoming collegiate season.
