A demanding conference calendar
The University of Georgia’s men’s basketball program has officially released its SEC schedule for the 2026‑27 season, a 18‑game slate that will run from early January through early March. The announcement confirms that the Bulldogs will meet all 18 conference opponents during that window.
Georgia’s road games will take them to Ole Miss, Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Florida, Oklahoma and Alabama. Each of those venues presents a different style of play and a chance to test the team against some of the league’s most storied programs.
At home, the Bulldogs will entertain Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Florida, LSU, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Missouri and South Carolina. The mix of familiar foes and new challenges should give the fan base plenty of reasons to fill the arena throughout the winter.
Looking ahead
Last season the Bulldogs posted a 10‑8 record in SEC play and a 12‑1 mark in non‑conference games, earning a No. 7 seed in the SEC Tournament before falling to the No. 15‑seeded Ole Miss Rebels. Their campaign ended in the first round of March Madness with a 102‑77 loss to the Saint Louis Billikens.
This year the roster will be without top scorer Jeremiah Wilkinson, who transferred to Arkansas, and defensive anchor Somto Cyril, who moved to Miami. Nevertheless, the coaching staff believes the remaining core can step up and compete for a tournament win, aiming to secure a third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
The schedule sets the stage for a season that could define the next chapter of Georgia basketball. With a blend of seasoned veterans and promising newcomers, the Bulldogs hope to translate their early‑season road battles into late‑season momentum that carries them deep into March.
