Chretien Lukusa, associate head coach of Morgan State’s men’s basketball program, has earned a spot in the inaugural NABC Flight School, a newly created initiative that gathers emerging college coaches for intensive learning and connection.
A Unique Opportunity at Nike’s Oregon Campus
The program will run from May 20 to May 22 on Nike’s Philip H. Knight Campus outside Portland, Oregon. Designed as an exclusive, invitation‑only experience, it offers a curriculum of educational sessions, leadership development workshops, and extensive networking with some of the most respected figures in the sport.
Lukusa’s selection underscores his rising profile within the coaching community. Having completed his second season as associate head coach, he helped guide the Bears to a second‑place finish in the Mid‑Eastern Athletic Conference during the 2025‑26 campaign, a period marked by standout performances from guards Alfred Worrell Jr. and Elijah Davis, both of whom earned BOXTOROW All‑America honors and placed on the All‑MEAC Second Team.
A Journey Built on Experience and Education
Before arriving at Morgan State, Lukusa spent five years at Binghamton University, where he contributed for three seasons as an assistant coach. As a student‑athlete at Binghamton from 2007 to 2011, he appeared in 116 games — second most in program history — and amassed 640 points, ranking among the school’s all‑time leaders in assists, steals, and rebounds. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in Africana Studies and a master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration, both earned from Binghamton.
A native of Toronto, Canada, Lukusa also brings international experience, having been active with the Canadian National Team and various grassroots basketball programs. His participation in the NABC Flight School is expected to further enrich his coaching perspective and provide valuable connections that could benefit Morgan State’s future campaigns.
