Ethan Surowiec, a junior infielder who helped the Florida Gators dominate the 2025 season, will once again wear the orange and blue after the 2026 MLB Draft passed him by.
A Calculated Return
Thanks to the NCAA’s recent five‑for‑five rule, he retains three years of athletic eligibility, giving him the flexibility to shape his development and maximize his marketability.
During his sophomore campaign he started all 62 games, leading the Gators in hits, batting average, RBIs and total bases, while also hitting 12 home runs, adding 14 doubles, a triple, 53 runs scored, 37 walks and two steals.
His summer in the Northwoods League was equally impressive; he posted a 1.255 OPS and earned the league’s MVP honor, underscoring his ability to perform against high‑level competition.
At the end of June he re‑signed his name, image and likeness agreement with Florida Victorious, securing a partnership that could amplify his visibility both on and off the diamond.
His return adds depth to a lineup that already boasts a strong offensive core, positioning the Gators to remain competitive in the upcoming collegiate season.
