Kristi Vera Appointed Coordinator of Women’s Basketball Officiating for the Atlantic 10

Veteran official brings 28 years of experience to lead A‑10 referees

The Atlantic 10 Conference announced today that Kristi Vera has been named its new Coordinator of Women’s Basketball Officiating, a role that will see her supervise every aspect of refereeing for the league’s women’s basketball competitions.

Vera, who brings more than two decades and a half of on‑court experience, previously served as an associate supervisor under longtime mentor Debbie Williamson and has spent 17 of her 28‑year career working within the Atlantic 10’s officiating structure.

In a statement, A‑10 Commissioner Dan Leibovitz highlighted Vera’s “exceptional professionalism and leadership” and said her appointment reflects the conference’s commitment to continuity and excellence in its officiating ranks.

Vera took the opportunity to thank Leibovitz and Associate Commissioner Candy Cage for their guidance, while also expressing appreciation for her predecessor, Debbie Williamson, whose mentorship she said shaped her approach to the game.

Having officiated in the NCAA Tournament on eight occasions, Vera said she looks forward to building on the conference’s strong tradition and to supporting the development of the next generation of women’s basketball referees.
