Tony McCall, the most victorious coach in Regis University soccer history, will transition to the Colorado School of Mines men’s soccer program in 2026, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of championship success.
McCall’s 132‑64‑17 record over multiple seasons at Regis not only placed him atop the program’s all‑time wins list, but also led the Rangers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2011 and a Sweet 16 run two years later.
A Record of Excellence
During his tenure, McCall captured regular‑season titles in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and guided his teams to multiple NCAA Tournament berths, including a memorable Sweet 16 appearance in 2012.
His coaching journey began as an assistant at the University of South Alabama (1987‑1993), where he helped develop three NSCAA All‑Americans and secured Sun Belt Conference championships in 1991 and 1992.
He then served as head coach at Stetson University (1993‑1998), further honing his ability to build competitive programs from the ground up.
Beyond club and collegiate coaching, McCall contributed to the broader soccer community as a member of the Board of Directors for United Soccer Coaches for six years, influencing policy and development at the national level.
Internationally, McCall represented Northern Ireland at the U‑15 and U‑18 levels, played professionally for clubs including Ballymena United, Glentoran, Cliftonville and Larne, and even contested the UEFA Cup against AS Roma in the Winners Cup.
His coaching credentials are equally impressive, holding a UEFA ‘A’ License, an IFA ‘A’ License, the NSCAA Premier Diploma, a USSF National Youth License, and a USSF Pro‑B License.
