A Return to the Thunder
The Adirondack Thunder announced this week that they have re‑signed defenseman Conner Hutchison for the upcoming 2026‑27 season, securing a player who has become a fixture in the club’s defensive core.
During the previous campaign, Hutchison logged 16 points across 45 regular‑season games and appeared in all seven of the Thunder’s Kelly Cup playoff contests, contributing valuable experience during a deep run.
A Productive Campaign
His offensive output marks a resurgence after a stint with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, where he appeared in 11 games before returning to the Thunder’s lineup.
A native of Hicksville, New York, Hutchison brings a blend of local roots and a diverse junior background, having spent time in the United States Hockey League with Chicago and Tri‑City as well as the British Columbia Hockey League with Penticton.
His collegiate career spanned three institutions, culminating in a final year at Miami University where he recorded nine points in 33 appearances, adding to a total of 44 points in 112 games at the college level.
The Thunder’s management emphasized his reliability on the blue line and his role as a mentor to younger teammates as key reasons for extending his contract.
The move also ties Hutchison back to the broader developmental network that includes the New Jersey Devils and the Utica Comets, reinforcing the affiliation that has produced several NHL‑ready prospects.
