Sport Illustrated’s latest “Top 50 Greatest College Football Players of All Time” list places Florida’s Tim Tebow at No. 8, a spot that underscores his lasting imprint on the sport and cements his place among the all‑time greats.
Tebow’s résumé reads like a highlight reel: as a freshman he helped the Gators capture the 2006 BCS national championship, and a year later he seized the 2007 Heisman Trophy before delivering a season that saw him throw for 3,286 yards, 30 touchdowns and just six interceptions while rushing for 895 yards and 23 scores.
Over his collegiate career he amassed 9,286 passing yards, 2,947 rushing yards and 145 total touchdowns, numbers that still rank among the most prolific in SEC history.

Joining him near the top of the list is Cam Newton, who sits at No. 5 after a stellar stint at Auburn that culminated in his own Heisman‑winning campaign.
