A 31‑year‑old resident of Harrison County was taken into custody on June 25 after police responded to a domestic disturbance that escalated into a brutal assault. The suspect, Charles Pearcy IV, is alleged to have restrained the victim’s hands and feet and anchored her to a five‑gallon bucket filled with tools for about half an hour before striking her more than ten times with a baseball bat.
According to the victim’s statement, Pearcy also punched her, threatened to paralyze her, set her on fire and ‘pulverize’ her legs during the ordeal. She emerged with two black eyes and numerous bruises across her body.
The attack occurred following an argument at the residence, and investigators say Pearcy’s threats were carried out in a calculated manner that left the victim fearing for her life.
Prior Legal Troubles
The suspect’s latest arrest comes amid a pattern of violent behavior. Court records show he was out on bond for an alleged stabbing incident when the Harrison County assault took place.
Authorities say the severity of the injuries and the threatening language used by Pearcy prompted prosecutors to pursue the malicious assault charge aggressively.
