Eastern Washington University's women's basketball program has added another accolade to its growing list of achievements, this time for academic excellence.
The team posted a collective GPA of 3.735 for the 2025‑26 academic year, placing it 15th among all Division I programs nationwide.
That performance earned the Eagles a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association Academic Top‑25 Team Honor Roll, a distinction that reflects both on‑court competitiveness and classroom dedication.
It marks the 18th time the program has appeared on the WBCA list and the first appearance since the 2017‑18 season, underscoring a sustained commitment to scholarship.
A Milestone for Eastern Washington Basketball
Head coach Joddie Gleason, now in her fifth year at the helm, received her inaugural Top‑25 Honor Roll recognition, a milestone that she says reflects the collective effort of players, staff and administrators.
The team's academic standing also ranked second in the Big Sky Conference, trailing only Montana State, which posted a 3.757 GPA and secured the 11th spot on the national roll.
The Women's Basketball Coaches' Association, founded in 1981, serves as the unifying voice for coaches across all levels of the sport, providing educational resources and a platform for professional development.
Beyond the team honor, individual players have been recognized as well, with three Eagles earning CoSIDA All‑District accolades and ten receiving Big Sky winter All‑Academic honors.
