Elon University’s men’s soccer program has announced the hiring of Calum Erlenborn as its new assistant coach, tasking him with overseeing the goalkeepers and reinforcing the team’s defensive foundations.
Erlenborn arrives after a productive stint at Gardner‑Webb, where he helped the squad to a 13‑3‑2 record and a Big South championship match appearance, while also guiding the goalkeepers to ten clean sheets in the previous season.

His coaching journey began at William Paterson University in New Jersey, where he honed his approach to developing young shot‑stoppers before moving to North Carolina.
A 2023 graduate of Drew University, Erlenborn captained the Panthers in his senior year, blending on‑field leadership with academic excellence.
He replaces Brian White, who after five years with the Phoenix transitioned to a role with Kwik Goal, leaving behind a legacy that includes a CAA Tournament title, two regular‑season conference championships and the 2025 CAA South Division crown.
The Elon men’s soccer team will open its regular season on August 20 at Rudd Field against Virginia Military Institute, marking the first test of Erlenborn’s newly assembled coaching staff.
Erlenborn expressed enthusiasm about returning to the region where he previously contributed to collegiate success, noting that the area’s competitive spirit aligns with his own ambitions for the program.
Fans can expect a renewed focus on shot‑stopping fundamentals and distribution, as the new staff aims to build on the program’s recent momentum and pursue its first national championship.
