The North American Soccer Expo is set to transform the Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi into a hub of activity this weekend, drawing more than 1,000 coaches, club directors, and technology providers under one roof.
Attendees will experience live field demonstrations, attend classroom sessions, and engage in college recruiting conversations, creating a unique blend of practical training and networking opportunities.
Executive director Paul Tinnion emphasizes the expo’s role as a connective tissue for the soccer community, bringing together youth clubs, professional organizations, and emerging tech firms to shape the sport’s future.
Spotlight on key presenters
Meghan Frey, Girls Academy sporting director, will lead a session outlining pathways for women after club soccer, offering insight into post‑youth opportunities.
Peter Vermes, former Sporting Kansas City head coach and U.S. Soccer midfielder, will host a Q&A, sharing tactical wisdom from his playing and coaching career.
Nick Deren, formerly of U‑Mercy, will conduct a field session on creating goal‑scoring chances, while US Youth Soccer’s Joel Dragan, Bobby Wood and Dan Lock — head of coaching and individual development at Columbus Crew — will round out the presenter lineup.
