Trenton Ramsey, a 6‑foot‑1 left‑hander who also patrols the outfield, has been a fixture in North Marion’s baseball program since elementary school. After years of dreaming about the Hurricanes, he signed his commitment to the University of Miami in a ceremony that underscored a journey that began in eighth grade.
A Dual‑Threat Prospect
In the 2026 season Ramsey posted a 5‑1 record with a 2.25 ERA, striking out 44 batters over 31 innings while opponents managed just a .146 batting average. At the plate he batted .319, reached base at .431 and slugged .582, adding five home runs, 24 runs scored and 21 RBI. He also stole 13 bases, showcasing the speed that complements his pitching prowess.
Coach Dale Hall, who has guided Ramsey throughout high school, described the senior as a natural leader whose character matches his athletic ability. “His work ethic, humility and willingness to elevate teammates are as impressive as his stats,” Hall said, noting that Ramsey’s influence extends beyond the diamond.
The Ramsey family — parents John and Erin — have long emphasized teamwork and community, values that Ramsey says shaped his approach to both sport and academics. Graduating with a 4.25 GPA, he will enroll in the University of Miami’s finance program, a decision driven by his desire to blend analytical rigor with the excitement of collegiate baseball.
Reflecting on his choice, Ramsey called the University of Miami his “dream school,” citing the campus atmosphere, the program’s reputation and the chance to develop as a pitcher and outfielder.
