A Competitive Slate
SUNY Canton’s men’s hockey program revealed its 2026‑27 schedule, a 25‑game campaign that blends a robust home presence with a demanding conference slate. The announcement underscores the team’s intent to defend its recent success and secure a third consecutive berth in the SUNYAC Tournament.
The season opens with a home series against Nazareth and Elmira in November, setting an early tone for the roster. Shortly after, the Roos will meet two perennial powerhouses — Oswego and Hobart — who consistently rank among the nation’s top ten, providing early tests of the team’s depth.
A home game slated before Thanksgiving offers local youth an opportunity to experience college hockey up close, while the December stretch features matchups against Morrisville and Cortland, rounding out the non‑conference portion of the schedule.
January brings the Comfort Inn Complex Winter Classic, hosted by Plattsburgh State, where the team will face off against a trio of opponents in a showcase event. The regular season also includes a series of home contests against Plattsburgh, Skidmore, Hobart, Oswego, Potsdam, Buffalo State, and Fredonia, all part of the 13 SUNYAC contests.
Beyond the regular schedule, the program’s ambition is clear: qualify for the SUNYAC Tournament for the third straight year, a feat that would once again earn the champion an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The coaching staff and players are focused on translating early-season challenges into sustained success.
