Jasmine Aikey, a Stanford University senior who double‑majored in computer science and soccer, has been selected as the College Sports Communicators Overall Academic All‑American of the Year for the 2025‑26 cycle. The award recognizes her outstanding performance in the classroom, on the field, and as a community leader.
She becomes only the third Cardinal athlete to earn this distinction, following in the footsteps of Tommy Vardell and Katie Ledecky, who previously captured the same honor.
A Legacy of Excellence
Aikey’s accolades extend beyond the classroom. In 2025 she was crowned the Hermann Trophy winner and named TopDrawerSoccer’s Player of the Year, and she also reached the final round of the Honda Sport Award for Soccer.
On the field she led the Cardinal to a national championship berth, marking the third straight year the team made the College Cup. Her senior season saw her top the team with 53 points and 21 goals, placing her among the program’s all‑time greats.
Her 21 goals tied for fourth in a single season in Stanford history, while her 53 points rank fifth, underscoring the impact of her offensive contributions.
Beyond college, Aikey has taken the next step professionally, signing a contract with the National Women’s Soccer League’s Denver Summit FC, a move that promises to bring her technical acumen and tactical intelligence to the senior game.
Stanford’s athletic director praised her dedication, noting that her achievement reflects the university’s commitment to developing leaders who excel both on the pitch and in the lab.
The College Sports Communicators highlighted that Aikey’s blend of academic rigor and athletic excellence sets a new benchmark for future scholar‑athletes.
