Media Days Set the Stage
At the recent Fox Sports The Game High School Football Media Days in Opelika, representatives from Chambers County’s high school programs gathered to outline their preparations for the coming season.
Chambers Academy, riding a three‑year streak of AISA state titles, is chasing a fourth straight championship. Head coach Jason Allen has adopted the rallying cry "something to prove" to drive summer workouts and keep the momentum alive.
Lanett High School, which finished the previous year at 12‑3 and fell short in the state title game, is looking to rebuild its momentum. The team’s recent experience has set a foundation for a strong rebound.
LaFayette High School announced the hiring of alumnus Douglas Jones, Jr. as its new head coach. Rather than framing the transition as a rebuild, Jones emphasizes steady improvement and a culture of growth.
Valley High School enters the season with a 7‑4 record from last year, while Springwood School hopes to bounce back from a 3‑8 campaign. Both programs expressed optimism about player development and competitive play.
