A Season of Progress
The Nodaway Valley baseball squad finished the season with just five victories, a record that barely nudged the team out of the bottom of the conference standings. Head Coach Dan Jameson, however, saw more than the win column; he noted that the players showed a level of competitiveness that had been missing in previous years.
At the heart of that improvement was sophomore shortstop Titan Foster, who posted a .369 batting average and reached base at a .529 clip. His speed proved lethal on the basepaths, as he stole 45 bases – a new school record that underscored his impact on the lineup.
Record‑Breaking Performance
Foster’s combination of hitting and baserunning placed him at the center of the team’s most memorable moments, providing a spark that coaches and teammates alike could rally around.
The departure of five seniors, including the core of the pitching staff, leaves a noticeable void, but it also creates space for younger players to step into larger roles.
Looking Ahead
Coach Jameson says the program will center its rebuilding efforts around two juniors and a sophomore, a core that blends experience with fresh energy. The coaching staff believes that continuity and development will translate into more wins next season. The upcoming offseason will focus on refining pitching depth and adding speed to the lineup, areas where the team already shows promise. With a solid foundation and a record‑setting player still in the mix, Nodaway Valley hopes to turn a modest record into a competitive campaign.
