Baseball operations will be overseen by Don Wakamatsu, the first Asian American manager to lead a Major League Baseball team, who will bring his global perspective to the club’s playing style.
Wakamatsu, a World Series champion as a player with the Anaheim Angels, aims to fuse traditional baseball philosophies with a competitive, modern approach.
The announcement follows the recent launch of another Pioneer League franchise in Long Beach, underscoring the league’s growing footprint across the region.
In the coming months, the team will reveal its name, branding, final venue agreements and initial player signings, marking the next step toward opening day.
