A Strategic Choice for the Bucs
Booker High School has named Lance Hoeltke as its new head football coach, a move that signals the school’s ambition to blend competitive athletics with a strong academic culture.
Hoeltke arrives after a distinguished playing career at the University of South Florida, where he was one of the program’s four inaugural team captains and famously capped a 70‑yard touchdown run during the school’s first public scrimmage in 1996.
His coaching résumé includes stints as offensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at Kentucky Country Day School, as well as contributions to state championship teams in Kentucky’s Class 2A division in 2016 and 2018.
Beyond the field, Hoeltke holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and an MBA from USF, and he currently serves as a managing partner with Plan Advisors, where he leads strategic planning and client relations initiatives.
The new coach has articulated a vision that places academics, athletics, character development and life preparation at the core of the football program, aiming to equip student‑athletes for opportunities that extend far beyond high school.
Community leaders and parents alike have expressed optimism that Hoeltke’s blend of playing pedigree, coaching experience and business acumen will elevate the program’s standards and foster a more holistic development for its athletes.
