A New Era for Noblesville Basketball
Justin Bennett, a coach with fourteen years of head‑coaching experience, including nine years dedicated to girls basketball, was officially hired by Noblesville to lead the varsity program. His appointment follows the resignation of Donna Buckley, who stepped down after an eighteen‑year tenure that produced 275 victories and a state championship.
Bennett arrives from Herron‑Riverside, where he serves as athletic director and boys basketball coach, bringing a blend of administrative insight and on‑court expertise. He inherits a team that finished the previous season with a 9‑12 record, a result attributed to a series of injuries that limited roster depth.
The new coach has outlined a philosophy centered on disciplined defensive schemes and fluid offensive ball movement. He believes that emphasizing these fundamentals will not only rebuild confidence but also unlock the latent talent within the squad.
Beyond X’s and O’s, Bennett will also function as an assistant health and wellness coach for the Noblesville School Corporation, underscoring a holistic approach to athlete development that integrates physical conditioning with mental resilience.
Community expectations are high. Players such as CC Quigley, Ally Hutchinson, Maia Blower, Gianna Morelli and Briley Morelli are expected to benefit from Bennett’s structured program, which aims to restore the program’s reputation as one of the state’s most prestigious girls basketball traditions.
