Three Baseball Legends to be Inducted into the North Dakota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame

Neil Roesler, Scott Monson, and Brandon Baumgartner will be honored for their enduring impact on the state’s baseball heritage

A Hall of Fame Celebration

On July 31, the North Dakota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame will welcome three distinguished figures — Neil Roesler, Scott Monson, and Brandon Baumgartner — into its storied ranks at Club 1883, a venue that has long served as a gathering point for the state’s baseball community.

Roesler’s imprint on the sport stretches back decades, beginning with his pivotal role in establishing a robust baseball program in Enderlin. Under his guidance, the Enderlin Indies captured state championships in 2007, 2010, 2011, 2020 and 2024, with Roesler delivering the decisive go‑ahead run in the 2007 semifinal that helped seal the title.

Monson’s Playing Excellence

From 1976 to 1996, Monson donned the jersey of the Jamestown Elks, amassing six North Dakota state championships and earning the 1985 MVP honor. His all‑conference selections and consistent performance cemented his reputation as one of the era’s most reliable hitters.

Baumgartner’s Pitching Legacy

Baumgartner’s name is synonymous with dominance on the mound for the Miller Lite Merchants. He sits second in franchise history for innings pitched, victories and strikeouts, and has added six Class AAA state championships as a key contributor. Since 2015, he has also served as the team’s pitching coach, shaping the next generation of talent.

The upcoming induction will join these three legends with more than one hundred individuals who have contributed to amateur baseball across North Dakota, underscoring the Hall’s role as a repository of the state’s rich baseball heritage and its ongoing commitment to celebrating those who have shaped the game.
