A New Era for Soccer in the Wenatchee Valley
The Real Madrid Foundation is set to bring its renowned youth soccer camps to Wenatchee Valley College this August, marking the first time the program has been offered in North Central Washington. Coaches from the foundation will lead sessions for boys and girls aged five through seventeen, focusing not only on technical skills but also on values such as leadership, teamwork, effort, solidarity, cooperation and respect.
Running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day between August 3 and August 7, the week‑long camp costs $599 per participant. Sessions are open to both field players and goalkeepers, and registration can be completed online. The initiative aims to give local youngsters a chance to learn from some of the world’s most celebrated coaches while experiencing a curriculum that blends sport with personal development.
WVC Athletic Director Greg Sparling expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that the camp provides a unique opportunity for local coaches and student‑athletes to absorb advanced coaching techniques. “We are proud to host this prestigious event,” Sparling said, adding that the collaboration reflects the college’s commitment to expanding athletic and educational horizons for the community.
