A New Frontier for Baseball in Orange County
The Orange County Baseball Club will make its debut at Great Park Stadium in Irvine, California, during the summer of 2027, marking the arrival of a new professional franchise in the Pioneer Baseball League.
The club’s season is slated to run from May through September, offering fans a premium ballpark experience at an affordable price point. Drawing on the vibrant traditions of Japanese and Korean baseball, the team aims to blend cultural flair with competitive play.
At the helm is Dan Wakamatsu, the former Seattle Mariners manager who now serves as the club’s manager and senior vice president of baseball operations. Wakamatsu brings a wealth of experience from stints with the Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays, and years as a scout for the New York Yankees.
Fans can secure early access by registering on the priority ticket waitlist at OCbaseballclub.com, while the nearby OC Riptide summer collegiate team will continue to call the Great Park its home next season.
The five‑year agreement between the City of Irvine and Innovation Baseball Partners outlines a partnership that promises significant financial benefits for the municipality, reinforcing the region’s growing sports ecosystem.
