Amillia Prochnow, a 5‑foot‑8 guard from Overland Park, has pledged to join the University of Kansas women’s basketball program as part of the class of 2027.
Her decision follows a standout 2025‑26 season in which she averaged 20.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.6 steals per game, a performance that included a quadruple‑double against I School on February 7. Prochnow had been committed to Arkansas from November 11 until July 16 before reopening her recruitment.
A Recruit with a Multifaceted Journey
The announcement came Wednesday night on Instagram, where she revealed her choice to the Jayhawks. She will remain active in the Overtime Select summer circuit, beginning with a Friday debut in Atlanta, where former Kansas star Tamecka Dixon is among the coaches.
Kansas enters the 2026‑27 campaign with four seniors, three of whom may seek a fifth year of eligibility under NCAA rules, a factor that could shape the team’s depth and future strategy.
Prochnow’s recruitment underscores the growing appeal of Kansas among top prospects, and her versatility on the court promises to add a new dimension to the Jayhawks’ backcourt.
