A Strategic Move in the ECHL
Connor Jones has accepted the position of head coach for the Tahoe Knight Monsters, an ECHL franchise that serves as a developmental affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights.
Jones spent the last two seasons with Princeton University’s men’s ice hockey program, where he helped the team increase its win total from ten to eighteen and reach the ECAC Championship Game in Lake Placid.
Princeton’s head coach Ben Syer praised Jones’s appointment, highlighting his dedication and the impact he had on the Tigers’ resurgence.
In a statement, Jones expressed thanks to David Hodges, Tim Tebow, and the Tahoe Knight Monsters organization, noting the opportunity to contribute to the team’s growth and community.
He also reflected on his recent role as a college scout for the Vegas Golden Knights, a position he held from 2022 to 2024, and said he looks forward to building on that experience.
Jones, a native of the United States with a playing résumé that includes stints in the AHL, ECHL and four NHL games with the New York Islanders, brings a wealth of experience to the bench.
The new coach emphasized his intent to develop players within the Golden Knights system while competing to represent the organization with excellence.
