Andi Veltcamp never imagined that a February tryout would change the trajectory of her senior year. Having spent most of her life on the ice as a figure skater, she stepped onto a soccer field for the first time with only determination to join the Big Rapids Cardinals.
The transition was anything but smooth. Veltcamp confessed that the physical demands and the sheer speed of the game were daunting, especially when she had to jump straight into matches without any prior experience.
