A Weekend of Basketball in Central America
The Horned Frogs will travel to San Jose, Costa Rica, for a two‑game exhibition series against the University of Ottawa Gee‑Gees, with both contests slated for the weekend of Saturday and Sunday. The matchups will be held at the private Seminario college arena, and entry will be free for all spectators. Unlike many televised events, the games will not be streamed online, nor will they be broadcast on radio or accompanied by live statistical feeds.
The Gee‑Gees arrive in Central America after a standout season in the Ontario University Athletics conference, where they finished 16‑6 and rode an eight‑game winning streak to close the year. Their offense averaged 83.7 points per game, positioning them third in the league, and the team is expected to bring that momentum to the Costa Rican courts.
For TCU, the exhibition represents a chance to fine‑tune a roster that returns four players, including three starters from last season’s NCAA Tournament run. All‑Big 12 forward Xavier Edmonds will be joined by guards Brock Harding, Micah Robinson and Tanner Toolson, while the program also welcomes 2026 Big West Freshman of the Year Gavin Sykes and the highly touted junior‑college standout Trent Lincoln.
Coach Jamie Dixon, who has overseen the team’s recent development, emphasized the value of the overseas experience for chemistry building.
