Vikings reshuffle 2026 schedule amid stadium upgrades
The Williams Valley Vikings have tweaked their 2026 football calendar as renovations at Stauffenberg Field progress, shifting several home contests to new dates and sites.
The traditional Friday night showdown against Southern Columbia, originally set for September 4 at 7 p.m., will now be played Saturday afternoon on September 5 at 1 p.m., while the league clash with Mahanoy Area has been moved to Saturday, September 26 at 1 p.m.
The September 11 encounter with North Schuylkill remains a night game, but the venue changes to the opponent’s field, still kicking off at 7 p.m.
Stadium lighting upgrades are slated for completion by the end of September, a timeline that will dictate when the Vikings can resume their regular home‑field routine.
The season itself opens on Friday, August 28, when Williams Valley travels to Upper Dauphin Area for a 7 p.m. kickoff, setting the tone for a campaign marked by flexibility and adaptation.
