Micah Simon has been named the new wide receivers coach for the Michigan Wolverines, slated to lead the position group in the 2026 campaign.
His journey to Ann Arbor began on the fields of Brigham Young University, where he played wide receiver under head coach Kalani Sitake from 2015 through 2019 and helped the Cougars capture their first TAPPS DI State Championship in 24 years.
After a brief professional stint with the Carolina Panthers of the NFL and the BC Lions of the CFL, Simon turned to coaching, first as an offensive analyst at Syracuse before guiding wide receivers at Northern Colorado, New Mexico and Utah.
Throughout his coaching trajectory, Simon has worked closely with veteran recruiter Jason Beck, shaping offensive schemes that emphasize route precision and contested‑catch ability.
Building a 1,000‑Yard Receiver
At Michigan, his primary objective is to propel senior standout Andrew Marsh toward the 1,000‑yard receiving milestone, a benchmark that could redefine the Wolverines’ aerial threat.
To achieve that, Simon must weave a cohesive supporting cast around Marsh, integrating playmakers such as JJ Buchanan and Jaime Ffrench while safeguarding the commitment of key contributors like Cornelius Johnson and Nico Collins.
