The World Climbing Series will conclude its 2026 Boulder season with a high‑stakes finale in Salt Lake City, Utah. From 16 to 18 October, the iconic Smith’s Ballpark — once home to the Salt Lake Bees — will host the world’s elite boulderers as they battle for the coveted overall rankings.
From Keqiao to the Beehive State
The campaign began in May in Keqiao, China, where Japan’s Anraku Sorato opened the season with a dominant performance. Since then, the men’s circuit has seen a rare streak of consecutive victories by Anraku, while the women’s field has been marked by rotating champions, including France’s Oriane Bertone, Japan’s Mao Nakamura and American star Annie Sanders, who captured her second gold of the year.
Anraku’s triumph in 2025 cemented his place among the few climbers to achieve three straight Boulder titles, a feat that has heightened expectations for his upcoming showdown in Utah. Meanwhile, Sanders’ consistency has made her a focal point for fans tracking the women’s race, as she looks to add another chapter to her growing legacy.
Ticket Sale and Anticipation
Tickets for the Salt Lake City event will go on sale on 3 August, a date that has already sparked excitement among the sport’s global community. Organizers have promised a fresh competition environment, blending the historic charm of the ballpark with state‑of‑the‑art climbing structures, and have hinted at additional fan experiences that will be revealed in the coming weeks.
The finale will also serve as the ceremony to crown the Boulder Series Rankings champions, bringing together athletes such as Zélia Avezou, Oceania Mackenzie, Erin McNeice, Mejdi Schalck, Amagasa Sohta and the aforementioned Sanders and Bertone under one roof. Their presence underscores the sport’s expanding reach, especially in markets where baseball and climbing intersect, a synergy highlighted by the delivery channel’s focus on United States‑English‑baseball audiences.
