At just sixteen, Tristan McKee is poised to step onto the track at Richmond Raceway on August 14, 2026, marking his debut in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. The milestone comes as the youngster celebrates his birthday just eleven days earlier, a timing that satisfies the age requirement for the series.
The North Carolina native first turned heads by winning a CARS Pro Late Model feature at Dillon Motor Speedway at the age of twelve. He has since added victories at North Wilkesboro Speedway and Caraway Speedway, and in 2025 captured the Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series championship, becoming the youngest driver ever to claim that title.
McKee’s breakout continued with his first ARCA Menards Series national tour win at Watkins Glen International only five days after his fifteenth birthday. In the current 2026 season he is contending for the ARCA Menards Series East championship, having posted three victories and four top‑five finishes in five starts.
A Mentor‑Driven Rise
Spire Motorsports has slated the teenager for five Truck Series dates this year, beginning with Richmond, then moving on to New Hampshire, Bristol, Phoenix and Martinsville. Co‑owner Jeff Dickerson emphasized that McKee represents a driver with significant potential and a positive impact on the team’s future.
Beyond the track, McKee receives mentorship from Josh Wise through the Wise Optimization driver development program, while Chevrolet has thrown its support behind the young talent, seeing in him a promising asset for the brand’s motorsport ambitions.
