A Strategic Addition to the Coaching Staff
Cam Briere was appointed assistant video coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets in July 2025, a move that adds a seasoned video specialist to the NHL franchise's coaching roster.
Before joining the Jackets, Briere spent four years with the ECHL's Maine Mariners, first as video coach from 2021 to 2025 and then as director of hockey operations during the 2024‑25 season, overseeing scouting and administrative duties.
A native of Ontario, Briere grew up in southern New Jersey before pursuing his education, earning a bachelor's degree in sports and business management from the University of Southern Maine in 2025.
He now makes his home in Grandview, Ohio, where he balances his professional responsibilities with life in the Columbus metropolitan area.
The Blue Jackets' management highlighted Briere's blend of analytical insight and operational experience as a key factor in strengthening the team's video department, which supports player development and opponent scouting.
