The suspects — identified as Brian Moore, Joshua Teel and Ashley Crockett — now face a slate of felony accusations, including burglary, grand theft and misuse of a two‑way communications device.
The case unraveled after a reported burglary prompted investigators to review surveillance footage that captured a suspect vehicle towing a stolen trailer. Detectives traced the trailer to Bradford County, where it was recovered, and linked the vehicle to Teel’s fiancée, a key breakthrough that opened the door to further inquiry.
Collaboration Across Jurisdictions
The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office and the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office worked side by side, sharing evidence and coordinating raids that resulted in the arrests of Moore and an accomplice for trespassing on school property. Text messages uncovered a meticulous plan among the trio, revealing how Crockett, a West Nassau alumna, supplied inside knowledge of camera placements to facilitate the break‑in.
Sheriff Bill Leeper praised the detectives’ persistence, noting that the coordinated effort underscored the importance of inter‑agency cooperation in tackling sophisticated property crimes. Each suspect now faces distinct charges: Moore is charged with conspiracy to commit grand theft and misuse of a communications device, Crockett with burglary of a structure and misuse of a communications device, and Teel with burglary, grand theft, dealing in stolen property and the same communications‑device offense.
The stolen trailer was ultimately recovered in Bradford County, and investigators say the suspects attempted to sell it for cash.
