Indiana University’s football program is reshaping its offensive line as fall camp gets underway, signaling a strategic shift that could reshape the team’s front.
A new configuration on the line
Adedamola Ajani, who contributed depth at multiple positions last season, is being moved to right guard, while veteran Joe Brunner, a 24‑game starter at left guard, is slated to slide to the outside.
Bray Lynch is also getting reps at center, competing directly with returning starter Drew Evans for the role that must replace Pat Coogan, the player who anchored the line in recent seasons.
Coach’s expectations
Coach Curt Cignetti says he sees maturity in Ajani’s game and believes Brunner’s physical attributes make him a natural fit for the tackle spot, while the center competition will push both Lynch and Evans to elevate their play.
The left side of the line appears set, with Evans and Carter Smith staying together, providing continuity as the team integrates these changes.
If the new alignments click, the Hoosiers could see a more balanced attack when the season opens, but the coaching staff will be watching closely how the unit gels during practice.
