Reggie Larsen, a 6‑foot‑5 guard from Preston, Idaho, has officially joined the College of Southern Idaho men’s basketball roster for the 2026‑27 season. His arrival marks the latest chapter in a recruiting storyline that has been closely followed by local fans and program insiders.
A New Chapter for CSI Basketball
Larsen comes to CSI after a standout prep career at Preston High School, where he was named the 2025 Idaho Statesman 5A Player of the Year. The honor recognized his 18.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game, statistics that placed him among the top prospects in the state.
Prior to his senior season, Larsen spent two years at Salt Lake Community College. During that time he appeared in 30 games, averaging 4.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and logging 15 minutes per contest. While his numbers were modest, the experience gave him exposure to a higher level of competition and a deeper understanding of collegiate play.
The guard cited former Golden Eagle Brayden Parker as an early influence, recalling the impact of Parker’s work ethic and on‑court vision during his own development. Larsen said Parker’s example helped shape his own aspirations to contribute meaningfully to a winning program.
In a statement released by the CSI athletics department, Larsen expressed excitement about the opportunity to continue the program’s recent tradition of success. He noted that his season at Salt Lake Community College reinforced his desire to play for CSI and that he hopes to help the team contend for a championship in the upcoming campaign.
