The West Point Little League U12 team entered the state tournament with high hopes, but their campaign ended in a narrow 5-4 defeat at the hands of East Side.
East Side's Early Surge
East Side struck first, plating four runs in the opening inning and setting a tone that forced West Point to play catch‑up for the remainder of the game.
Despite the early hole, West Point answered with a steady series of hits, gradually chipping away at the deficit.
Standout Bats
Carter Finley led the offensive charge, finishing 2‑for‑3 with a double and a home run that brought the team within striking distance.
Kaden Kriger added a timely double and drove in a run, finishing 2‑for‑2 and providing a spark that kept West Point alive.
Supporting contributions came from Bennett Mento, who logged two hits, as well as Lucas Henry, Dominic Bova and Sebastian Worman, each adding a single and a run scored.
The final tally of 5-4 reflected a game that swung back and forth, but East Side’s early burst proved decisive.
