Over a six‑week stretch the squad logged more than 40 games, a workload that demanded endurance and strategic depth from Coach Josh Metz, who also oversaw the creation of the team’s custom jerseys.
The tournament venue received a series of upgrades, including a new scoreboard and modern sound systems, aimed at enhancing the experience for players and spectators alike.
Community Support and MLB Alumni Involvement
Major League Baseball alumni Daulton Varsho and Jordan Zimmermann contributed autographed jerseys for a raffle organized by the Post, a gesture that underscored the program’s growing connections to the professional game.
All proceeds from the raffle are earmarked for the continued development of Post 54’s baseball initiatives, reinforcing the community‑driven nature of the team’s mission.
A Narrow Defeat and a Path Forward
The host team’s run concluded with a 6‑5 loss to Sheboygan, a game decided by a single run that left the championship hopes hanging on the final inning.
Despite the setback, the experience has positioned Marshfield to build on its momentum, with the tournament champion set to advance to the Legion Baseball National Regionals in Kentucky.
