The offense got off to a quick start, with John Rattigan and Hugo Fiero driving in runs on consecutive sacrifice flies in the first inning. A timely single by Jackson Lockhart, a hit‑by‑pitch for Luca Martinelli and an infield hit by Sheridan sparked the rally that put Lincoln ahead early.
When the game reached the sixth inning and the threat of elimination loomed, Sheridan remained composed, recording the final out that sealed the win and kept Lincoln’s title hopes alive.
The earlier 5‑1 loss to Barrington in the winners’ bracket final, a game in which Sheridan did not pitch, underscored the importance of his return to the mound and the urgency of Friday’s showdown.
Barrington’s lone run came from Andrew Knychalski’s single in the fourth inning, which scored Noah Robbins. Reliever Lochlan Donaghy and starter Knychalski, who had thrown only 20 pitches each, are expected to be available for the upcoming contest.
With a win, Lincoln will represent Rhode Island at the Metro Regional in Bristol, Connecticut, a goal that has driven the team throughout the tournament.
