Bobcats Crowned Back‑to‑Back Big Sky Academic Champions
Montana State's women's basketball squad has been crowned the 2025‑26 Big Sky Team Academic Champion for the second consecutive season, a distinction that underscores the program's commitment to scholarly excellence.
The Bobcats posted a program‑wide grade point average of 3.76 during the 2025‑26 campaign, the highest among all Big Sky women's basketball teams, while also establishing a new conference benchmark of 57 cumulative wins over the last two years.
Eight players from the roster earned Big Sky All‑Academic honors, and five of them achieved perfect 4.0 GPAs, highlighting the depth of academic talent within the team.
Commissioner Tom Wistrcill praised the student‑athletes' classroom achievements, noting that the academic awards were introduced four years ago to spotlight such performances.
Montana State's academic standing also placed 11th nationally in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association team GPA rankings, reflecting the program's broader impact.
Head coach Tricia Binford has guided the Bobcats to eight top‑15 academic finishes in program history, reinforcing the team's consistent excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
