Sweet 16 Basketball Tournament Returns to St. Benedict

The 36th edition of the Pacesetter Sweet 16 basketball tournament is set to take place on August 1 and 2 at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, bringing together the state's top projected teams for a weekend of competition.

Four St. Cloud‑area programs — St. Cloud Tech, St. Cloud Apollo, Sartell on the boys' side and Albany on the girls' side — will join the elite field, with the tournament using a bracketed format that mixes classes within groups of four teams.

Boys competition will feature Minnehaha Academy, Blaine, Orono, Pequot Lakes, Red Lake County, Upsala and Janesville‑Waldorf‑Pemberton, while the girls bracket will include Rosemount, Providence Academy, Minnetonka, Coon Rapids, St. Paul Harding, Pequot Lakes and JWP.

The girls' division will play three games across two pools before crowning champions at 1 p.m. on Sunday, with all matches held on four courts inside the Haehn Campus Center and open to the public.
