A Coach Who Defined a Generation
Eden spent 16 seasons as an assistant before taking the helm in 1996, compiling a career record of 484 wins, 70 losses and 32 ties. His teams captured 17 league titles, 11 Suffolk championships, 10 Long Island championships and state crowns in 2008, 2010, 2019 and 2023, establishing him as the second‑winningest coach in Suffolk County history.
Under his guidance the program achieved a 17‑1‑1 record in the most recent season and reached the county finals, while also finishing as a state finalist on three other occasions. The breadth of his success extended beyond the scoreboard, shaping the lives of dozens of young athletes who went on to pursue higher education and professional opportunities.

Athletic director Steven Davis announced Eden’s passing on July 19 and confirmed the upcoming service, noting that the school has not yet named a replacement head coach for the forthcoming fall season.
