Kutztown University announced that Erin Gonzalez, a recent graduate and standout field hockey player, has been named the 2025‑26 Female Athlete of the Year, capping a season that combined athletic dominance with academic distinction.
Milestones on the field
During the 2025 campaign Gonzalez set new personal bests, recording 17 goals, eight assists and five game‑winning strikes across 22 appearances. Her 42 points topped a career that placed her seventh all‑time at Kutztown in goals (47), assists (18) and total points (112), while her 15 game‑winning goals rank among the program’s most clutch performances.
The accolades extended beyond the scoreboard. She earned PSAC Athlete of the Year, First Team NFHCA All‑American, All‑Atlantic Region, and All‑PSAC honors, and was also recognized with a Chambliss Student Academic Achievement Silver award for her combined athletic and scholarly excellence.
Gonzalez’s achievements were highlighted at the All‑Sports Celebration on April 29, where she received the Female Senior Athlete of the Year award, and again at graduation in May, when she earned a degree in business administration.
Her story adds to a legacy of nine female athletes who have captured the university’s top female athlete honor, underscoring Kutztown’s commitment to developing leaders both on the field and in the classroom.
