Jasmine Kessler, the senior goalkeeper for the University of Texas at San Antonio, has been selected for the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women’s Players to Watch list for the 2026 season. The honor marks the first time a UTSA player has earned a spot on such a preseason watch list, underscoring the growing national recognition of the program.
Kessler’s inclusion follows a standout 2025 campaign in which she guided the Roadrunners to their inaugural American Conference title. That season she was named the conference’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player and set multiple UTSA records, including 22 wins, 12 draws and 16 shutouts.
A career built on consistency and clutch performances
During the 2025 season Kessler posted a 0.93 goals‑against average, ranking second in the American Conference and 58th nationally in the NCAA’s goals‑against‑average metric. She recorded 89 saves, placing her seventh on the school’s all‑time list, and finished her career with 187 saves and a .813 save percentage that tops the program’s history.
Beyond raw numbers, Kessler’s impact was evident in pivotal moments. She scored a penalty kick and made the decisive save in the championship game against third‑ranked Memphis, and she also contributed an assist earlier in the season. Her ability to influence the game both defensively and offensively has drawn praise from teammates and coaches alike.
