Slam Jose Returns to Downtown San Jose
The Slam Jose 3‑on‑3 basketball tournament will take over the plaza area formerly known as Plaza de César Chávez on September 26‑27, bringing together teams from across the Bay Area for a high‑energy weekend of streetball.
Presented in partnership with the Hoop It Up 3×3 basketball organization, the event features pro‑am, adult, wheelchair and youth divisions, each competing for cash prizes that exceed $20,000 in total.
Pro‑am teams, open to players aged 18 and older, compete in men’s, women’s and wheelchair brackets, with $5,000 awarded to first‑place squads and $2,500 to runners‑up. The adult division follows a similar prize structure, while youth categories focus on emerging talent.
Registration, which costs $250 per three‑to‑five‑player roster, guarantees each team at least four games. The deadline to sign up is September 23, and spectators can attend free of charge by RSVPing in advance.
A schedule built for the community
Games run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 26 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 27, filling the downtown plaza with music, food vendors, a free‑throw contest and other entertainment options.
Beyond the competition, Slam Jose aims to fuel local youth sports, revitalize downtown San Jose and support community organizations throughout the Bay Area, turning the tournament into a catalyst for neighborhood pride.
